Stood Up

By RU Rob
Just in case you have been living under a rock or on a rock in the middle of Asscrackistan, Tim Kennedy’s opponent for the UFC’s Fight for the Troops 3 (FFTT3) at Ft. Campbell, KY stood him up to fight Mark Munoz due to an injury of his previous opponent and all-time Ranger Up favorite Michael Bisbing <insert sarcasm>. This is the second time this has happened over the course of the last month and Tim is a little hurt. Why doesn’t anyone want to fight a Special Forces Operator in front of an entirely Army crowd?
Tim did not take the news lightly and to be quite honest was a little hurt as referenced in this tweet last night:
That hurt lasted all of about 10 minutes as Tim started campaigning for a new opponent (I think he really, really wants to fight at FFTT3). Having the balls the size of Rhode Island, Tim began calling out every single middleweight on the roster starting with legendary UFC fighter Rich Franklin:
Tim doesn’t stop there and continues:
At this point, Tim flips his lid and goes all “crazy-eyes in a wig in a bathtub” taunting everyone:
Tim even goes after Wanderlei Silva:
Tim then decided to pull all the punches and launch at Nick Diaz (even though there is little chance he would show up, anywhere, anytime):
The Brazilians haven’t been that reliable lately but Tim is willing to take that third strike:
This continued throughout Friday night and into Saturday with his latest attempt at securing someone to square off against, Tim hits up Shogun Rua (another Brazilian I might add):
There are exactly 39 days until the UFC’s Fight for the Troops and poor Tim doesn’t have an opponent for arguably one of his biggest fights of his career. Who do you think should step up for the main event?
The first person in the comments section who properly names Tim’s opponent for FFTT will get a prize pack consisting of several RU shirts and swag. Make sure to leave your email address (it won’t be published) and remember that we screen comments (to keep you from reading spam) so it may take a couple of hours for your comments to be seen publicly.
Good Luck..
And I almost forgot…if you are not following @TimKennedyMMA @Ranger_Up and @TheRhinoDen on twitter, you are missing out!

Maybe we will get lucky and find a bear in another country (probably at a Russian zoo) and they can sign the bear to fight Kennedy, then two weeks before the fight I assume the bear will pull a hammy (can bears even fucking doing that?) or have passport trouble, which always happens. So without a fight Tim and the ranger up crew come with an idea to do their version of that Disney god turned trailer trash Miley Cyrus video, but due to budget cuts they can’t find a wrecking ball. So the entire video is shot with Tim swinging from a miniature Pakistani donkey.

I believe Rich Franklin may end up taking the fight. He has perennially been the UFC’s company man, and may very well step up if they ask him.

Option A: If you guys will cover my travel and lodging, I’ll fight Tim. I’m 5’9″, 160-ish lbs and spent 11 years in the Army (active & guard). I’m out of shape, look horrible without a shirt on, and can’t fight to save my life if it’s against someone who knows what they’re doing, but Tim could do like a Harlem Globetrotters thing and tie me up like a pretzel for laughs. Seriously, I’ll do it, but you guys are buying the drinks after.
Option B: I could get our mutual friend, John (JayBee) Butler drunk enough to agree to fight him. He’s long since retired, but he’d do it if Tim put the wig on and asked nicely.

I’m thinking if Mr. Kennedy gets anyone to fight him (not likely) that it will be a no name rookie that doesn’t know any better than to f*ck with spec. ops.

His name is Lyoto Machida and he’s a fucking bitch for stepping out on Tim.
I’m looking forward to watching Tim grow in his fighting career – if anyone steps up to him that is! He’s got what it takes in my opinion, he just needs some fucking experience and one good name in the ring to pound into mush.

I am sure dana and joe silva came to lyoto and asked him to fight munoz instead of him backing out against kennedy. either fight is dangerous for him for his middleweight debut.
that said i think tim should face rashad evans since i have heard of rumors of him going down to 185. i would also say dan henderson but he has a fight with vitor belfort. either of these guys being former world light heavyeight champs and great wrestlers would be a great matchup for him and it would also showcase how well of an improvement tim has done with his wrestling.

I’ve got an idea. I think its a great idea. Tim should go all WWE style. Just walk down to the ring, take the microphone, please the crowd, call out anyone in the stadium, and lets see who steps up. While horrible for the sport, it would be entertaining to watch.

Worst case pull on the heart strings of ol’ Brian Stann and see if he will come out of retirement. Doubt it would count for official record, but would be awesome to see the the W.E.D.G.I.E. at full speed.

I’m thinking someone like Brad Tavares… unless the UFC gets a welterweight to fight at middleweight since it’s a relatively late notice fight. Maybe Jake Ellenberger?

If no one steps up, I’d jump in the ring with Tim just to give the troops a show… I’m overweight and out of shape anymore, so I’d get jacked up, but I don’t quit, and I can take a punch. Hit me up if you need a punching bag just to make sure this fight happens

strikeforce rematch with Jarce Sousa! Jarce just fought so his weight should be good, and he finished fast and took no damage. Then we will see how much Tim has improved, cause it was a close fight last time with some saying Tim won and others going with Jarce.
