There are so many freaking awesome military videos out there on YouTube and we want to foster that a bit more and give people the opportunity to showcase their creativity.

So here’s the deal. We’re giving people one month (until March 10th) to submit a YouTube video that talks about how Ranger Up is awesome. That may sound a little self-serving, but come on! It’s our contest.

Approach this any way you like – serious or funny.

What you need to do to compete:

1) Make a video.
a. It has to be pro Ranger Up.
b. It has to have the urls RangerUp.com and RhinoDen.com in it.

2) Post it on Youtube with the format “Ranger Up Video Contest – YOUR VIDEO NAME”. For example, if you made a video about how all of our MMA Fighters were awesome, it could be “Ranger Up Video Contest – MMA WARRIORS” or something like that. PLEASE USE THIS FORMAT OR WE WON’T ACCEPT IT!!!

3) Email business@rangerup.com with an email with the same title as your YouTube Video (por ejemplo, “Ranger Up Video Contest – MMA WARRIORS”) along with the link to your video.
a. It should have a link to your video on YouTube.
b. You should tell us what your favorite Blog is and include a link.

DEADLINE: APRIL 15 2010

Best Video (Funny)

- $250 cash and $250 gift certificate to Ranger Up. We will also honor your favorite blog with inclusion in our weekly email and give them a 125×125 square on the RhinoDen for a month.

Best Video (Serious/Cool)

What you’re allowed to do:
1) Really anything you want. We’re not limiting anyone’s creativity. That being said, if you do something pure evil, understand that Ranger Up is not responsible for the content! (hear that lawyers?)

2) You can pull any images on our site for this, provided you don’t use them in a derogatory fashion about the company or our sponsored athletes. This is in our sole discretion, so just because you think it is okay to compare Tommy Batboy to Choko from Land of the Lost, it doesn’t mean, we’ll agree (but we do).

3) That’s pretty much it!

What we’ll do:

1) Post any reasonable content on the RhinoDen and send out facebook and email links to the videos.

2) Send the winning videos to all of the various military blogs.

3) Post surveys so people can vote on your video.

4) Continue to try to get Sarah Fetters to model for us.

5) Continue to push for global domination.

Okay, here’s the deal. Ranger Up is bringing a bunch of people out to do the Bataan Death March in New Mexico on 19-21 March. Check it out here.

Essentially it is a marathon over awful terrain. There is a heavy division and a light division. We have some people competing in the light division (meaning no rucksack) and we have four people (Nick, Tom, John Tackett from FighterLink, and Whitney) competing in Heavy Co-Ed. We expect to walk/run this event. We need one more to make a five-person Heavy team.

We want someone from the RUniverse to join us.

Why we’re doing it: Because it’s there and because we’re going to support the Rocky Boots/Warrior Legacy Campaign.

The uniform: Rucksack with 35 pounds, Ranger Panties (we’ll provide), t-shirt (we’ll provide).

How to compete:

Send us a very short essay in the comments area here or on facebook. When we read them, we are considering two things:

1) Will you be able to do it? We don’t need to win and we’re not super-amazing athletes, but we’re not gonna suck either. Take that into account.

2) Are you going to be fun to hang out with for a weekend or are you going to suck us into the misery vortex? We seriously just want to hang out with someone that is cool. It’s gonna suck and if you’re a douche, it’s gonna be a long 26.2 miles. If you’re not sure if you’re a douche, ask your friends. Also, if you’re generally not a douche, but get douchey when you are physically miserable, keep that in mind.

Requirements:

1) You’ve walked 12 miles or more at military standards (55 pounds, under 3 hours). You can do it this week, but you have to have done it by Monday the 8th.

2) You’re not a douche.

Huge Bonus Points:

1) You’ve served in the military or are/were a military spouse or dependent.

2) You’ve run a marathon.

3) You’ve competed in this before.

4) You can turn into pure energey and smite your enemies.

5) You have been the centerfold in either Maxim, Playboy, or Fight!*

*We’re kidding. This will not help you.**

Hey! My name is Heather Dyre. I am 22 years old and I am a model out of Arkansas. I think that I would be a great ranger-up girl! I love helping people that help others. I think that the soldiers deserve this. They have so much to help our country. Leaving behind family’s, not knowing if they will get to see them again. I would love to be the one to show the soldiers how much we appreciate everything they are and have been doing to keep everyone else safe! I have a lot of friends over seas fighting for out country. These guys don’t get to see hot girls for a long time, so when they are injured and feel like no one cares, I would like to be the one to show them that everyone cares and talk with them when they feel like they have no one else. Well, you know what we mean.

Here is a message from Maggie that she’d like us to share with you:

I am an outgoing, determined, get what I want kind of girl! Growing up on a farm in a small town in Iowa, I have learned you have to work hard to play hard. At the age of three I found my love of dance and being in the spotlight. I grew up entertaining the crowd with my sassy, carefree spirit that everyone loves.

I consider myself one of the lucky ones; I married a Marine. Marrying my husband, I not only married a wonderful man but I also married the Marine Corps and I am very grateful my husband is part of such an elite group of people. I have met some of my closest friends and in last four and half years that I’ve been a Marine wife. Living on a Marine Corps base surrounded by the Marines and their family insinuates being able to live alongside the true American heroes.

After relocating to the D.C. Metropolitan area with my husband, I have had the opportunity to meet some wonderful people who have introduced me to MMA fighting. After attending my first live MMA fighting event, I fell in love with the sport and became an MMA ring girl! My devotion to pushing myself to be all I can be has allowed me to accomplish my goals in life as well as my fitness goals. I am very committed and love to exercise on a daily basis.  My strict workout routine has made me a strong, confident, successful young lady.

When I am not working my day job as an Office Assistant for a Real Estate Management Company or at the gym I enjoy spending my time with my husband and my two adorable puppies. On the weekends you are sure to find me out socializing with friends at a night club, bar, and of course at MMA fighting events!
